Data center management

To provide stakeholders with critical IT services, organizations need to keep their data centers operational, secure, and compliant. Data center management includes the tasks and management tools needed to do so. The person responsible for carrying out these tasks is known as a data center manager

Typical responsibilities of a data center manager include:

  • Maintain service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Ensure fulfillment of licensing and contractual obligations
  • Identify and resolve IT problems such as communication issues between edge computing devices and the data center
  • Secure data center networks and ensure backup systems and processes are in place for disaster recovery

  • Determine the optimal server arrangement and cable organization
